Glad You Stopped By

I am the baker of the family but I also like to cook. I hate cleaning up because I seem to dirty every dish. I love to collect old recipe books. My Grandma, bless her soul, gave me many of her cookbooks and I cherish them. If I had my dream kitchen, it would be a huge country style kitchen with all the conveniences.

I love looking through recipes books, putzing on the computer, going to rummage sales, taking walks, or just staying home watching a good movie with my husband.

I have a dog named Sadie who is something else. She has such a personality that she has me laughing all the time. Needless to say she stole my heart (and she knows it) and she's our baby.

If you're out and about, please stop by and say hi. I go by Ruthie or Deb, either one I answer to especially if I smell something really good baking in the oven. :)

So far so good. I made a big pot of collard greens with keilbasa and navy beans. I used smoked paprika, bacon salt, a tiny bit of fennel, and it's going to keep me going for several days. I stored a bunch and poured what I couldn't fit of the "pot liquor" in a coffee cup and just sipped on it. Yum. Too bad I never measure anything or I'd add the recipe to the site.
